From Juliet to Julieta: Pedro Almodovar takes Alice Munro to Cannes

When Pedro Almodovar optioned three stories written by Pulitzer Prize winning Canadian author, Alice Munro, the plan was for the trio to be adapted as his first English language film. Instead Juliet Henderson became Julieta and she was relocated from Vancouver to Madrid.

The stories— “Chance,” “Soon” and “Silence” — which first appeared in Munro’s collection, Runaway, will now fly to France to make their screen debut at Cannes on May 17th.
