James Franco travels back in time to save President Kennedy: Watch the trailer for 11.22.63 based on Stephen King’s novel.

Stephen King is one prolific author. How much does he write, 10,000 words a day I think I remember reading somewhere? James Franco is one prolific actor—he has three projects in preproduction, three in postproduction plus one making its debut on Hulu on Presidents Day. It’s an adaptation of Stephen King’s best-selling 11.22.63 novel about a time-traveling high school teacher who goes back to 1960 to prevent the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. His mission, the movie’s imdb page warns, “is threatened by Lee Harvey Oswald, falling in love, and the past itself, which doesn't want to be changed.”

That sounds good to me! Let me know if you’ve read the book and what you thought of it. 11.22.63 is being presented as a nine part series—fast becoming my favorite way of adapting books—and in addition to Franco, stars Chris Cooper, Josh Duhamel and Sarah Gadon. I’m adding it to my Movies Based on Books 2016 list. Scroll down for the just-issued trailer.

For me, Franco definitely rocks that early 1960’s vibe. Watch the trailer, see what you think.
